For years I've received feedback from labels that they liked my music, but that the mix wasn’t there yet and it sounded too digital. After years of only mixing in the computer I took on the advice to start working with outboard gear. I always thought an analogue mix would make the sound lofi but I found that by using analogue warmth/saturation, external fx’s and re-amping on some channels and blending them with channels that you keep solely digital the mix will come to life and will sound tight, dynamic and hifi.
For me a mix is ready when it sounds amazing on all the systems I frequently check on without anything on the master yet. When that’s the case it’s time to go forward into the mastering process.

Next to producing music as Figi I also love working with artists to get their musical ideas to life. As a producer I try to get as much from the artists personality into their work. How I do this is to create a space where artists feel free to put their ideas on the table and to work very quickly on them and try to make multiple ideas or approaches every session. This way we always have stuff to work and with the right approach this can be very motivating because there’s stuff to listen & feedback on.
Figi worked with artists like (alphabetical order): Baby Boys, David Gtronic, DROMéDA, Earl Elliot, Coach, Faberyayo, Guti, ISHA, LEWIE, Luuka, Kuenta i Tambu, Nelcon, OGR Momo, Pala G, Rebiere, San Proper, Seth Troxler, Sola, Tom Trago, Totti Demeo & Zeldzame
